I tend to love lists of things, so when Zach Eberhart with the Zemanta clan posted his “top 40” blogging tools I hit that puppy like a hungry trout. As homage to Zach, I’m highlighting his fine work in Gut Check America today. Here’s Zach’s intro to the piece:
After years of blogging I’ve learned to love a select assortment of tools that have helped to make blogging easier, quicker, and more fun. Some of these tools may not be “the best”, but they are the ones that I love and the ones that I have a strong affinity for; so I figured I’d share in the hopes that they will benefit other bloggers like they did me.
It’s a great list, worthy of the investment in time it will take you to go through it. Trust me, it’ll be worth it.
If you get nothing else from reading Zach’s post it should be that Zemanta itself is worth the effort (and I use the word “effort” loosely) to get up and running on your blog. I use it all the time. A tremendous tool, time saver, snazzy add-on (and they don’t even pay me a dime to say that!)
Check it out today.
Thanks for the mention Brock. I’m a recent Zemanta convert and so far I see no drawbacks to using it. Looking forward to reading this “Top 40” list.
The only “drawback” per se that I can see is that Zemanta puts a lot of “junk code” into the HTML of a blog post; if you know what you’re doing you can strip it out. I’ve never seen it hurt anything, so I usually just leave it in there.
